UNLOCK A NEXUS S3 TUNE
Can't get into your Nexus S3 tune? Send the protected .nexmap and we'll return it unlocked.
Unlocking a Nexus S3 .nexmap tune
A locked Nexus S3 tune is a common roadblock when a car changes hands or a tuner moves on. We remove the password from your Nexus S3 .nexmap so you can open, read and adjust the calibration yourself in NSP.
Send us the Nexus S3 file and mark whether it's fully or partially locked. You'll have proof it's unlocked within 24 hours, and you only pay $50 USD once you're happy.
How it works
Upload
Drag in your .nexmap tune file, tell us your ECU model and what's locked, and leave your email.
We remove the lock
Our backend reads the tune and produces a copy of your .nexmap with the password protection removed.
Proof, then pay
We'll email you within 24 hours with a screenshot of your tune unlocked as proof. Once you're happy, pay $50 USD and download your unlocked .nexmap.
Why tunes get locked — and where we fit in
Password-protecting a tune is completely legitimate, and tuners do it for good reasons. We respect that. Understanding why a file is locked also makes it clear what this service is — and isn't.
Protecting their IP
A calibration represents hours of skilled work and hard-won knowledge. Locking the file keeps that intellectual property from being copied or shared.
Preventing tampering
A lock stops a tune from being quietly altered, helping ensure the calibration a tuner signed off on is the one that stays in the ECU.
Protecting their name
If someone edits a tune and it runs badly, the original tuner can wear the blame. Locking protects their reputation from changes they didn't make.
Where we come in
Sometimes you simply need access to your own tune again. Maybe you can no longer get hold of the tuner who made it, you'd like to work with a different tuner, or you want to make changes yourself. That's what we're here for.
We provide you with an unlocked copy of your .nexmap so you can open and edit it freely. To be clear about what we do: we do not give you the tuner's password, and we do not re-lock tunes after they've been adjusted. We simply remove the protection so the file is yours to work with.
Please use this responsibly
Unlocking a tune is a decision to take seriously. Your original tuner may not be happy that their work has been unlocked, and doing so will typically void any warranty or support agreement you have with them. Editing ECU data without knowing what you're doing can lead to a poor — or even engine-damaging — tune. If you're not confident, please work with a qualified professional. Proceed carefully, and only if you understand the changes you're making.
Supported ECUs
Any Haltech tune exported from NSP as a .nexmap file is supported. If your ECU isn't listed, upload it anyway — most tunes share the same format.
